Three problems this condo handed us — and how each one was put right.
A Kitchen Designed Around the Conversation
The old kitchen was dated and didn't work for how the owner actually lived. We started where every Cornerstone job starts — we listened. In our on-site meeting we talked through how the space needed to function, then designed a kitchen built around that real conversation, not a template.
Walls Taken Back to Straight
Years of patch jobs had caught up with these walls — old holes filled wrong, mismatched repairs, and coat after coat of paint hiding it all. We ran our drywall sander over every wall to cut through the buildup, then skim-coated the surfaces smooth so the new paint had a clean, flat base.
The Worst Ceiling We've Seen — Made New
The ceiling was the toughest we've taken on to date. Old popcorn texture, water damage from past pipe leaks, and years of bad repairs built on top of each other. We stripped it back, fixed what was hiding underneath, and finished it flat and clean — then added four LED pot lights for proper, even light.
Where It Began — and the Plan for the New Kitchen
The kitchen was dated and closed-in, and the finishes across the main floor had seen better days. Before any demolition, we sat down with the owner, listened to how she wanted the space to work, and rendered the new kitchen so she could see the finished design in advance. No guesswork — a clear plan, agreed on before the first cabinet came out.
