Renovation Contractor in Oshawa & Durham Region
We took a closed-in townhouse main floor, removed a load-bearing wall, and held the house up with steel — then built a full custom kitchen with quartz counters and a subway-tile backsplash. One open space, done right.

A full main-floor renovation with real structural work at the heart of it — here's the job, from demo to handover.
That wall was holding up the house. You can't take a wall like that out and hope for the best. Done wrong, the floor above sags — or worse.
So we did it the right way. We put in a structural steel beam — a W200×27 — sized to carry the weight the wall used to hold. Then we welded a steel post (4×4×¼") under the beam to carry that load straight down to solid footing.
With the wall gone and the steel in, the kitchen and the main floor became one open room — the way the family wanted to live in it.
The full kitchen and main floor, designed before a single wall came down — so every part landed where it was supposed to.
This is where we started — a dated kitchen, worn flooring, and a wall cutting the main floor in two.
The part you never see once the drywall goes up — and the reason the open floor above is safe for good.
With the structure handled, the new kitchen, tile, and flooring came together across the main floor.
A custom kitchen with quartz counters and a subway-tile backsplash, new luxury vinyl plank throughout — all in one open space.
What used to be a chopped-up main floor is now one open space. The steel does the heavy lifting behind the scenes. The custom kitchen, quartz counters, and subway-tile backsplash are what you see and use every day. New luxury vinyl plank runs right through the main floor, and a new closet door finishes it off.
At handover, the owners received the Cornerstone Owner's Manual — every product and finish written down in one place — plus a client-portal login holding every project photo and record. See how we handle general contracting in Oshawa and custom kitchen renovations.
